Te waka a Aoraki

 We have read the pūrākau sharing the beginning of our world, the North Island and this week we read the pūrākau explaining the creation of the South Island.

We went back to our favourite youtube clip and watched with particular interest 

We used keywords created into webcharts to support our retelling. 

                              

We retold the pūrākau too. How easy this was with our webcharts.

We also drew waka to support our movie making.

Then we watched the Ngai Tahu retelling of the pūrākau of Aoraki.

               We finished our Te Reo Matatini with a session comparing two retellings of this Pūrākau.
